“Being a student at the County College of Morris has been a great experience for me. At first I was a little nervous wondering if I would fit in. I spent many hours thinking about how to adjust to my new lifestyle. Nevertheless, I was very determined to do something better with myself, then simply just existing. I decided to familiarize myself with County College of Morris, and what it had to offer me. I came upon a flier from the Educational Opportunity Fund program stating that they were looking for people to join and I decided to apply. I was accepted into the program, and immediately no longer felt the stress of having to adjust. The EOF and its staff have made my college experience a great one. I must admit at first I was a little skeptical, but with an open mind and a drive to do better, I was willing to listen and learn. No matter what problem transpired the staff of EOF is always ready and eager to assist. Their team effort has carried me a long way and given me a whole new outlook about college and life. I feel privileged to be a part of it.”

"My EOF experience has been wonderful! It has not only provided me with financial help but personal growth. Because of EOF I am more confident not only as a student but as a mother and a member of society. I have learned to love myself for who I am and not what everyone else wants me to be. I am happier now then I have ever been before in my life, and I have EOF, and the wonderful staff to thank for helping me find myself during my successful journey at CCM."

"The EOF experience has proven to be one of the most valuable times of my life. Life had been a constant challenge from the time my father died and left my mother with a house full of children and no provisions. I am the oldest girl of 15 children and the challenges were monumental. I made the decision to go to college in 8th grade because I saw it as a way to escape poverty. No more houses without running water, hand-me-down clothes, and no more monthly wars fought by my mother to keep her children from being split up and sent to orphanages. I knew if I went to college it would change my future. The EOF FAMILY made it happen for me. They gave me that sense of belonging and value; and provided opportunities for me to build the self-confidence which motivated me to make my dream come true. THANK YOU EOF FAMILY."

The E.O.F. Program provided the academic rigor, intellectual curiosity, maturity, and perseverance that helped me achieve professional levels that I could not have imagined while growing up in Newark. The counselors took a personal interest in ensuring that I and others were successful at Seton Hall. I value that experience and try to instill what I learned in the students and staff with which I work.
