Once upon a time, only a few years ago, if you went to an art exhibition like the Saturday night AFAS show preceding the Pebble Beach Concours, all you saw depicted was classic cars, mostly prewar cars like Duesenbergs, Bentleys, etc. Then depictions of muscle cars began creeping in, on cat’s feet so to speak, but this was inevitable because some of the greatest vehicle artists of our time are former ad illustrators like Art Fitzpatrick who painted the immortal Pontiac Grand Prix and GTO illustrations. You do not want to just wash cars, you do not want to just detail cars, and you want to make some funds! And scratches are a great way to do that. So, let’s 1st do the test. 1. Take your fingernail and run it over the scratch. If the region is raised, you almost certainly have a transfer (paint on leading of your paint). Get some thinner and eliminate it with gloves on and a rag. If there is any residual, buff or lightly wet sand and then buff. 2.  If your fingernail doesn’t feel anything, you most likely have a light clear coat scratch.
